Ngan M. Pham, Anesthesiology MD

PhamNgan M. Pham, MD, is our resident Anesthesiologist.  She attended the University of South Carolina where she received her Bachelor’s of Science in Biology.  After receiving her Doctorate from the University of South Carolina School Of Medicine, Dr. Pham then went on to the Medical College of Wisconsin (MCW) for her Internal Medicine residency.  During her residency, she was recruited to anesthesia but she decided to stay with Internal Medicine and to research with the Department of Anesthesiology and Critical Care.  Her research included Perioperative Glucocorticoids Supplementation with Drs. Eugene Cheng and Metzloff  Tonkevic, Opioids’ Response in Diabetic Mice with Drs. Eugene Cheng, Leon Tseng and Toshi Minori, and Opioids Agonist Receptor on G-Protein Activation In Transogenic Mice Lacking Mu Receptor with Drs. Leon Tseng and Toshi Minori.

As she subsequently fell in love with anesthesia, she transferred to the University of Tennessee Health and Science Center in Memphis, Tennessee where she completed her Anesthesia residency.  As her love is in cardiac, pulmonary and critical care, she pursued a fellowship in Pediatric and Adult Cardiovascular and Thoracic Anesthesia at the University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston, Texas.  Upon completion of her fellowship, she moved back to the south to practice anesthesia.

With her Internal Medicine background and CV/Thoracic fellowship, she practiced medicine and anesthesia by taking care of her patients with an individualized and comprehensive approach.

Currently she keeps her internal medicine skill as she volunteers at the Rock Spring Free Clinic weekly and also at the local high school for sport medicine physicals.  For relaxation, she traded her Lifetime Movie Network for baseball and football.  She enjoys baking/cooking, yard work/gardening, shrubs sculpturing, and long bike trips near her home in Forsyth, Georgia.
