Dr. Melanie Battle is a board-certified orthopaedic spine surgeon with more than two decades of experience diagnosing and treating complex conditions of the cervical, thoracic, and lumbar spine. She specializes in both surgical and non-surgical treatment of spine disorders, with particular expertise in spinal trauma, spinal deformity, minimally invasive spine surgery, motion preservation procedures, and adult reconstructive spine care.

Dr. Battle earned her medical degree from Harvard Medical School before completing her orthopaedic surgery residency at Johns Hopkins Hospital, where she also completed advanced fellowship training in spine surgery and spinal deformity. Her extensive training at two of the nation’s most prestigious medical institutions provides the foundation for her precise, evidence-based approach to spine care.

Throughout her career, Dr. Battle has held leadership roles including medical director and founder of a successful spine surgery practice. She has also served as a consultant for medical device and biologics companies, contributing to physician education, surgical technique development, and implant innovation.

Dr. Battle believes that successful spine treatment begins with a thorough evaluation and a conservative, patient-centered approach whenever possible. When surgery is necessary, she utilizes advanced techniques designed to restore function, relieve pain, and help patients return to their daily activities as safely and efficiently as possible.

At Spine Center Atlanta, Dr. Battle works closely with a multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive care that may include physical therapy, regenerative treatments, interventional procedures, and surgical solutions tailored to each patient’s needs.

Dr. Battle is fluent in English and Spanish, allowing her to provide compassionate, accessible care to a diverse patient population.

Outside of the operating room, Dr. Battle enjoys spending time with her son, who is passionate about music. She also enjoys playing tennis, following women’s basketball, and traveling.
