Thoracic Facet pain is most often caused by arthritis or injury. RF creates a heat lesion on the nerves that tell the brain to feel pain. Once that communication stops, so does the discomfort. This procedure only effects the pain pathway from the facet to the brain so there is no risk of altering the muscles or other sensations.

Radiofrequency Neurotomy is a very effective treatment for facet pain that is chronic in nature. It is minimally invasive with extremely low risk. Once properly diagnosed thoracic facet pain can be greatly reduced and/or eliminated with the use of Radifrequency Ablation.
